Greg: Roosevelt - 8/24-25/2023

I fished a couple of days on Roosevelt out of Fort Spokane. I find late August into September difficult as walleyes are usually spread out and frequently on the move. I covered a lot of ground on the first day trying parts of the lake that I had not fished before during the morning. I didn’t catch my first walleye until 1 PM, but had 8 in the boat by the time I quit at 4 PM. On the second day, I fished with Ken out of his boat. We applied the pattern from the first day, and ended up catching 14 walleyes and 2 rainbow trout. The majority of the walleyes we caught were 14 to 16 inches, but I did get a 20 incher on the first day. The water temperature on the main lake was 71 degrees. The weather on day 1 was sunny with a high in the low 80s. Day 2 was cloudy with a high in the mid 70s.
